My Daddy and My Father

I was having a conversation with my daddy the other day about a potentially harmful situation that had arose. Just like I knew would happen he got his protective daddy voice and said, "Do I need to handle it?" My daddy has always been my protector. My entire life he has done his best to keep me safe and happy. Even now that I am 27, he would do anything in his power for my benefit. That conversation got me thinking about my heavenly Father and all that He as done for me. Just like my daddy, I run to my heavenly Father when I am scared, hurt, confused, and out of options. Every time, just like my daddy, He says, "Do you want me to handle it?" And just like my daddy, He will. Anything I bring to Him, He will handle. Psalms 55:22 says, "Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall." (NLT) I am such a lucky girl. My daddy would take care of me for the rest of my life or at least the rest of his. My heavenly Father will take care of me for the rest of eternity. My daddy would lay down his life for me if he thought he needed to; my Father already has.
